Our Journey

The Lord led myself and my late husband on an amazing journey to understand the “Father’s Heart” for the Jewish people and the nations. It began in 1996 when Shepherd Staff Ministries and Chapel was incorporated. We began studying the “Judaic roots of our faith.” We wanted to know how God desired His people to worship Him.

As pastoral counselors we ministered to the wounded and brokenhearted. In these early days, we began to learn about brokenness that came through severe trauma and demonic oppression. The Lord sent us a Godly mentor, Dr. Floyd McCallum, who taught us the wisdom the Lord had imparted through his life over the past 40 years of teaching, counseling and deliverance. He mentored us for many years.

Our journey took us to Romania, England and to Israel in 2008. In England, the Lord impressed the name “Cohen” on my heart and said, “This is your link to Israel.” We knew no Cohen’s nor did we know we needed a link to Israel. Shortly afterwards we found a flier regarding Israel saying Chuck Cohen and Eliyahu Ben-Haim from Israel were coming to speak on the topic of “Israel Today.” Of course, this set our hearts on fire.

As we grew in experience and understanding, we began to be impressed with the immediate and vital importance Israel is playing in the life and well-being of the church today. We found that the “Father’s Heart” was turned toward His promises in scripture for His land (Israel) and His people (the Jews) the “apple of His eye”.

Having spent years in counseling, inner healing and spiritual warfare, we found ourselves warring and interceding for His land and His people. We began to see how the forces of darkness are doing everything they can to keep Israel and the church from its destiny. Our well-being is tied to the well-being of all parts of the church, Jew and Gentile (nations) alike.

1 Corinthians 12:25-26 “…that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.”

Romans 15:24-27 Paul states, “For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem. It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.”

Without Israel we would not have God, Jesus, our Jewish Messiah, the Bible, the covenants of promise. (Eph. 2:11-12)

As we wrestle for life and health within the church, we find ourselves blessed when we bless His people and His land. We desire to teach and enable others to reach maturity in the faith through discipleship and mentoring. We endeavor to keep learning and growing.

Ephesians 1:17-19 “…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of his mighty power…”

Peter's Crossing Over
and my journey forward

Peter's Crossing Over
and my journey forward

This is a picture of Peter at the Dan Jerusalem Hotel in which we were attending the Intercessor’s For Israel Conference in January of 2013. Shortly after we returned he was diagnosed with cancer. They gave us no hope from the beginning. We knew God could heal him but as intercessor’s we also knew God sometimes calls us over for reasons we might not understand until we are on the other side. We asked for His perfect will no matter the cost. Peter was an intercessor, praying God’s word back to Him reminding God of His appointments with His people.

Peter passed from life to life on August 19th 2013 at age 65. My love, my friend looking forward to seeing you again in glory. Two weeks before Peter passed he was seeing in the heavenlies. Seeing angels and Jesus and much more. He saw a tray. I asked what was on it. He said the fruits of the Spirit. Peter asked which one should he take? He also saw a tray with information of truth on it. I knew Peter was in the heavenlies, as he loved learning truth.

My Journey as a Widow

Because I believe God is sovereign and that He has the perfect plan for our lives and we prayed for full length of days, I purposed in my heart not to question His timing in taking Peter home. God has given me extraordinary grace. I have certainly had times of loneliness and missing my husband, who knew me and understood the art of intercession that is not easily understood… BUT GOD. God in His faithfulness has given me new strength, courage and boldness like never before. I initially have struggled with learning how to be single again and with identity. Moving from wife and mother to widow and mother of adult children. I am learning to see God as husband and friend, provider, my all in all. I praise Him and pray my life will bring glory for His holy name’s sake. I live to do His will. I am one of the happiest/blessed people I know.

I have traveled to Israel for the IFI Conference each year since, except one so far, no fears, just great joy. I continue the work of hosting our friends with Intercessor’s for Israel here in the USA as they lead us in teaching and intercessory prayer for Israel and the nations. I endeavor to be obedient to all His call in this hour, hoping to provoke the church to prayer for God’s purposes for Israel in this important hour in which we live.
